Clinical Assistant in Breast and Lung Cancer Research

Workplace Description
The work is intended to take place mainly in the breast and lung cancer group at the Department of Oncology at Medicon Village.
The work environment consists primarily of other group members and includes access to an office space, computer, and opportunities to participate in seminars, group meetings, and other forms of developmental discussions in the workplace.

We are now seeking a clinical assistant at 30% during the period from January 15 to April 15, 2026.

Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility
The role involves completing an ongoing project on the role of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in lung cancer prognosis. There is a cohort of HE-stained slides from about 200 operated lung cancer cases scanned and ready for digital assessment. The assessments will be planned and conducted in consultation with pathology ST doctors and PhD student Daniel Ehinger, and with university lecturer and research group leader Maria Planck as the main responsible. The employment will also involve compiling and interpreting results as well as participation in statistics and writing.
Requirements for Employment:
- Medical degree
- Work experience as a physician in the field of pathology, including tumor diseases.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of/experience in thoracic pathology, tumor immunology (especially regarding morphological evaluation), and lung oncology.
- We value an optimistic and attentive personality with good collaboration skills.
Other
The position is 30% and temporary according to the Higher Education Ordinance (Högskoleförordningen) 5 chap. 8-12 §§ for under 3 months. The desired start date is January 15, 2026, or by agreement.
